Meanwhile, I was looking at this website this morning. Go get a hanky and download the story. It's so simple and the best thing I have heard in a long time. I think I will get the kids each a copy of this book for Christmas. Thanks Brenda, I discovered it through that new website:)

Seriously, do it. If you are at work, shut your office door;-) (Not that you aren't working Catherine!! lol)

Oh my goodness. When Chris was in 1st grade the teacher read this story to the class when I was in volunteering. She sang the song andthe book made a great impression on me. After that I used to sneak in to Chris and Karys after I had already read their bedtime stories and said goodnight. Then I would crawl in and grab them (one at a time, seperate rooms) and sing the song and do the rocking back and forth, back and forth. This was usually greeted with squeals of laughter and hugs and kisses! This continued for a few years and then sort of disappeared as my babies grew up. And then last year just before Christmas I was inspired and ran out and bought two copies of the book. My to teens have been a bit moody and stand offish for the past year or so....Anyway their smiles were priceless when they unwrapped the books and remembered the significance of "our story". I am confidant that occassionally they will pull out the book when they are thinking mum and dad are just the meanest people in the world, and remember that we love them. I just think it is great that you discovered this book and now I'm sorry that I didn't think to share it with you earlier. Enjoy!

OMG, how weird is that?  I bought that for Josh when he was a baby, and we read it and read it and read it for years- it was both of ours favorite book.  As a matter of fact (don't tell anyone!) either he and I have each brought it out a time or two in the last 3 years when one of us (usually me) feels particularly down and sad.  Currently, it is in my bedside table next to "Empty Arms- coping with miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant death."  The fact that the story was spawned after experiencing stillbirths is amazing to me; I had no idea.  As a matter of fact, one of Josh's ways of making me feel better is to have me read it and remember that I'll always have *him*.  Thank you for today's tears, I feel refreshed.  Hugs!
